Google Analytics has just launched a new version of their system.

In the last version of Google Analytics, users were able to analyze previous activity on their website. Marketing teams have realized that the Internet moves quickly and watching real-time website activity is essential to analyze what marketing behaviors are effective. Google Analytics now offers Real-Time, which shows reports activity on a website, as it happens.

Another helpful feature added to Google Analytics is Mobile Reporting. Because the number of mobile users is constantly increasing, marketing teams and website owners need to be in tune with website traffic from mobile devices. The new feature reports which particular devices are accessing the website and how many visits were made with that device. Also, marketing teams can now see how many visitors their website is receiving from mobile ads.  Site owners can use this information in creating a website optimized for devices that visit their webpage frequently.  The addition of this feature illustrates the importance that businesses start investing in more mobile-based markets.

Flow Visualization has also been added to the new Google Analytics. This feature shows what path visitors traveled through your site. It shows a start to finish journey of their browsing within your website, through various pages and where they exited the site.

Google is continuously working to improve their tools for marketing teams and website owners. They listen to feedback from their clients and create helpful tools for more effective marketing and website creation. The Internet is constantly evolving and it’s important for websites to do the same.

SEM (Search engine marking) is an important form of Internet marketing. It works to increase the visibility of websites in search engines through a variety of techniques. Paul Chambers, co-owner of Core3 Solutions, and Brian Renner, founder of movieinside.com, recently spoke about SEM at Walsh College. At the college’s Global Entrepreneurship Week, the two were able to share their experiences with SEM to help others create more profitable websites.

Being found online is important in operating a successful business. Internet users find a variety of information through search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. There are millions of websites in the world and it’s essential to rank high in search engines so web users will find your website more easily. With Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-Per-Click (PPC), businesses can become more noticeable online.

To create a successful website, it is also important to consider the user’s experience. If a website is over-cluttered, slow in loading and hard to understand – users will simply move on to a different site. Brain talked about his experience with movieinsider.com and discussed how a less cluttered, quicker and simpler website has helped increase their revenue.

Fourteen years ago, when Core3 Solutions began, marketing teams functioned very differently than they do today. Advertisements were positioned in a few, very basic places like the YellowPages, through snail mail as well as in newspapers and magazines. In the age of technology, things have changed quite a bit. Nowadays, digital marketing requires the knowledge of an array of advertising outlets, analytics and marketing techniques.

Last Tuesday, one of Core3’s owners, Paul Chambers, took some time to share his experience and knowledge of sales and marketing with a group of Business-to-Business (B2B) students at University of Michigan Dearborn.

Online marketing is very dependent on search engines and the behaviors of Internet users. In Paul's B2B Sales and Marketing presentation, he described the advantages of SEO vs. PPC .  Also, he outlined the behaviors of most web users in relation to search engines.

While many companies don't understand the significance of social networking, it is essential for a successful marketing campaign. Paul discussed the importance of social networking, like Facebook and Twitter, for companies.  Also, due to high volumes of Smartphone usage -- Paul believes that mobile marketing is the next frontier in digital websites and advertisements.

There are many myths within B2B marketing and Paul spent some time clarifying a few of these in his presentation. He also highlighted five B2B web apps that students may find useful in their future sales or marketing positions.

Online marketing can sometimes seem overwhelming, but Paul’s presentation helps simplify key elements in having a successful online marketing campaign. Check out his full presentation here.

As one of the owners of Core3 Solutions, Paul Chambers has tested an assortment of websites and apps to help with the organization and effectiveness of Core3. Paul recently shared his knowledge on his ten favorite Internet-based applications at Walsh College’s BusinessLIVE 2011 conference.

The fifth annual conference was held on Oct. 20 and gathered small business owners from the area to talk about an array of valuable business tools.

Paul discussed Internet-based applications and “the cloud” in his presentation Stop Talking about “The Cloud” and Start Using It!

Throughout his presentation, Paul highlighted his favorite applications.  He described the functions of each application and why he feels that they are useful to small business owners. In addition, he explained which elements of business they are most helpful for, similar products and pricing options for each application.

If used properly, Internet-based applications can help boost business and increase your team’s productivity. For more information, check out Paul's presentation: http://prezi.com/6forzixs6vs2/top-ten-web-apps.

Consumer packaged goods (CPG) don’t account for a large portion of online sales. CPG include items that are used by average consumers on a daily basis and need to be replaced frequently. Customers tend purchase these items from stores, because they need them more quickly than most items purchased online, such as books and clothing.

According to Nielsen, CPG account for about 2% of online sales. Because of this, manufactures of CPG may ignore the online market and think that internet advertising is not beneficial to their company. However, a recent study by comScore and dunhumbyUSA found that online ads are helpful for GPS brands. The study examined CPG sales for a two-year period, between 2008 and 2010, and the influence of online advertisements for the brands. Customers that have viewed online advertising for CPG companies were more likely to purchase those products than those who had not seen the ads. A median of a 21% increase was reported.

Spending for CPG online ads has dramatically increased in recent years and is expected to continue rising. eMarketer expects a 35% increase this year. As companies realize the importance of online marketing campaigns, CPG brands may explore new online selling techniques. It’s important for companies to recognize that even if their product is not available for online purchasing, Internet marketing can still help the brand’s growth.
