After a company’s website is completed, it’s time to start thinking about search engine optimization (SEO). SEO helps ensure your website gets
visibility on search engines, hopefully resulting in an increase in traffic. To properly utilize SEO, businesses must decide if they will do in-house SEO or outsource their efforts with an SEO company. There are many things to consider when making this decision, so in today’s blog we have outlined some of things to consider when hiring an in-house SEO specialist or hiring an SEO company.
Advantages of in-house SEO
Speed: When hiring an in-house SEO specialist, they will likely create a specialized SEO strategy and implement it very quickly. An SEO company must get a complete understanding of the business to properly promote the website, which can take some time.
Additionally, SEO companies are paid by their time and will have other clients to work on. An in-house SEO specialist will only have one client to think about – you. This means that all of their attention will go on your marketing efforts.
Less Expensive: Hiring an in-house SEO specialist will likely cost less money than outsourcing the task. Additionally, some companies may require SEO specialist to work on other projects, which can be cost effective for the company.
Open Communication: One major perk about having an in-house SEO expert is that you can ask them questions, address concerns or discuss current SEO campaigns whenever you’d like.
Hire Selection: Hiring an in-house SEO specialist means you determine exactly who is working on your website optimization.
Advantages of an SEO company
No distractions: At an SEO company, their sole job is to successfully optimized your webpage. While they likely have other SEO clients to work on, there is little chance that they will get sidetracked with other daily tasks in the office.
Innovative ideas: Because SEO companies are constantly working with a variety of marketing ideas, they are up to date with the new, fancy ways to optimize your website.
Teamwork: At an SEO company, the marketing team likely includes more than one person. Though a single person may be assigned to your case, having a team of SEO specialists can jump start innovative optimization techniques and increase copy editing skills.
Experience: Sometimes, SEO is a trial and error process. Working with an experienced SEO company can give you some insight to things they have tried before. Though an in-house SEO specialist may know the basics, they may not know if it will work for your specific company.
Proper search engine optimization can make serious differences in your website’s traffic. Whether you go with an in-house specialist or an SEO company, select your SEO professional wisely. Thanks for this Jennifer, if I’m unbiased I think it’s better and more cost effective for a company to train an in house SEO specialist.
Even when top rankings have been achieved, algorithms are constantly being tweaked and changed. Therefore it is good to have a competent staff member to anticipate and adapt to new search trends and maintain link and social media quality.
